I must first thank everyone who has taken the time to call, write, send me a text, email, facebook and/or twitter post to wish me well on this journey. Your comments, prayers, and words have truly meant the world and kept this journey just a little easier to bear.
I must give extra thanks to a few:
July 26th, I will check into the University of Pennsylvania hospital for a 12 hour (minimum) surgery. I will be having a double mastectomy followed by a free flap reconstruction. The recovery time (approximately 6 weeks) will be longer than some other procedures but this seemed to be the best option to avoid a reoccurrence. It will require a hospital stay of five days. I guess God and my body was telling me that I needed a break. I sure wish I would have listened sooner. Never in a million years did I expect to be on this journey but I know that God has something greater in store for me so I will not complain.
What's your body telling you? Whatever it is please listen…
May God bless you on this journey. I believe God has great things in store for you even if we don’t know what they are right now. We will keep you in our prayers.
I will be praying for you. Your positive attitued is inspiring. I love the gloves the most. Being there with my mom through her chemo and radiion for lung cancer, I know that cancer is a tough opponet but you can/will win the fight.
My body is telling me to lose weight. I need to listen.
OMG so sorry I’m just now hearing about this! Know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I have a family friend who went through this at the beginning of this year. She is perfectly healthy now and I know you will be too. Keep fighting and know you’ve got a lot of people in your corner. Thanks for being brave enough to share your journey with us.
Praying for you and your family.

My aunt is a breast cancer survivor who’s found an amazing support network.
I hope you find the same in your community.
