Tomika is a mother of two (ages 17 and 20), the Bio-Chemist turned sports mom, helps other busy moms navigate parenthood, staying relevant and stylish through her popular blog Life in Pumps.
Tomika and her family reside in the suburbs of Philadelphia but love exploring the sights and sounds of the city. She believes that life is an adventure and is often found using planes, trains and automobiles.
Rarely will you find Tomika without her signature lipstick and/or a conversation starter shoe. Fashion is more about how you feel than how you look and as a curvy girl she wants to empower other plus sized women.
Advocacy is a huge part of Tomika’s life, as a nine year breast cancer thriver. She continually leverages her experiences with breast cancer to help others. This includes using her voice on Capitol Hill and serving as a patient advocate/mentor on various pharmaceutical research projects. The diagnosis empowered Tomika to focus on bridging the large gap between the healthcare system and the wellness movement.
Tomika’s clean journey completely altered her choices as a consumer. Learning all she could about clean ingredients and their impact on the body as well as the environment. She became conscious of the products used to clean her home, the candles burned, what her family puts on their skin, and of course—what they put in their body.
Tomika, dubbed the Organic Lifestylist, has fully embraced this newest role. As a sought after speaker, she shares ways to make the transition to a clean life. Capitol Hill provided an avenue to partner with the Organic Trade Association to advocate for Organics with elected officials. This provided a phenomenal opportunity to share the importance of Organics. Tomika is also an ambassador for ShiftCon.
The love of travel is what prompted Tomika, to assume the role of President for the Philadelphia Travel Massive. As an African- American travel blogger, she continues to inspire people to travel either alone, with the family or a girls trip. She stresses the importance of blacks who travel especially with their children. You can count on her to provide recommendations great restaurant, destinations, boutique hotels, and travel tips for all budgets.
Tomika has appeared on Good Day Philadelphia, Dr. Oz and the Q Show as a lifestyle expert. She has also been included in several major publications such as Essence and Good Housekeeping. She is a the creator of Tea Talk Thursday. and co-host of Happy Hour with Camp Squads.
When not behind her laptop, you can catch Tomika reading, bike riding, shopping, breaking bread or toasting with friends, coaching lacrosse, volunteering with Jack and Jill of America, Girl Scouts of America, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc, as well as supporting fellow breast cancer survivors.
