Do teachers need to be saints?

Facebook connects the world. It uses the old concept of 6 degrees of separation. But what we fail to realize is some of those degrees of separation need to be maintained. Recently teachers are getting fired or receive some type of disciplinary action for posting how they feel about their school or students on facebook. Any other person in any of profession would just be ignored, but for a teacher they must be beyond reproach. It is a bit ridiculous. Do teachers need to be saints? 1

The thing we miss is that freedom of speech that things like facebook gives us the chance to make things better. So if a teacher rants about how bad their kids are, maybe the parents and the administration need to figure out why. Firing a teacher is not going to make the kids behave better. It could even make them act worse. So we either have to hold everyone to a higher standard or just let it go.
