The “Happiest Place on Earth” road tour is a great event where influencer are invited to learn all that Disney has to offer for the upcoming year. Officially called the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, SMMC, it's day of creating memories and networking. As a Disney family, I love attending and bringing back the goodies back to the kids. It just heightens the excitement for our yearly visit.
MyMagic+ Bands: The MyMagic+ band system has been fully rolled out to all Walt Disney World parks and resorts. If you haven't seen these yet, the Magic Bands are RFID wristbands that function as your resort room key, your charge card for food and drinks in the parks and restaurants (it links to your credit card), and as your park tickets. Gone are the days where you need to keep track of tickets. I love this as the bands are cute and I don't have t worry about losing them. Now you just hold your band against a MyMagic+ Mickey ears signpost and it lights up to allow you to enter.
On-site resort guest using MyMagic+ bands, can also plan their FastPasses for Disney rides and attractions 60 days prior to your trip. No more lost FastPasses! (If you are not a MyMagic+ band user, you can plan FastPasses at a park kiosk on the day you enter the park.) Off-site guest will have their tickets issued on a card, but for $12.95 they can issue you a band.
New Fantasyland: Walt Disney World's Fantasyland expansion is complete, and it's now known as “New Fantasyland.” This will clearly be my favorite spot as not only has it doubled in size but there will be more character sightings. The Enchanted forest is home to Prince Eric's Castle, Belle, Ariel, Grotto and some new dining options.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train: Shout Heigh-Ho as you rock and roll on this new coaster. Perfect for the entire family, it's a trip through the mine with Dwarfs that appear to be almost human.
One of my highlights was viewing the Diaper Dans video. It seems that a simple typo by Gary Buchanan, Social Media Managing Editor, resulted in this cute video. His intent was to relay a message about the barbershop quartet that performs at Walt Disney- The Dapper Dans. The question now is just how early did they start preparing for this role?
The conference always adds something motivational and encourages educational growth. Victoria Lim, provided some wonderful tips that can be put to use immediately. The pin exchanged allows for additional networking. It was truly a great event that I look forward to attending.
Disclosure: I participated in the Disney On-The-Road Social Media Moms conference. Only compensation received was a swag bag.
