Yesterday I was invited to preview and shop at the Just Between Friends (JBF) Western Main Line Consignment Sale. I was walked in and was the first thing I thought was Santa Claus has arrived. There were rows and rows, racks and racks of almost everything imaginable for your child. There were items for babies to older kids neatly arranged and waiting for the right buyer. I found great deals on children's clothes and shoes along with some great toys. Many of the items I selected were new with tags attached. The shopping gets even better on Saturday as it is Half Price day!
JBF was created in 1997 in Tulsa, Oklahoma when 17 friends hosted a sale and grossed $2000. The event grew leaps and bounds from there and currently has 124 franchises in 24 states. I am new to consigning even though I have had it on my radar for years. I guess I never knew what to expect. One shopper told me to be careful as it is addictive. I am excited about the opportunity to clean out my closets.
The organizers have partnered with local Boy Scout of America troop 267 where they assist with the sorting and also takes the unsold items and donates them to those in need. As a consignor you are given the option to pick up any unsold items but either way you will receive a print out of what was sold.
The Western Main Line sale is being held at the Philadelphia Expo Center Hall C which is located in Oaks PA. The dates are Thursday & Friday, September 13,14th 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (half price day)
