If you haven't been following along with Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta then you have missed a treat. The series set in Atlanta features the kids of some of hip hop's best. Bow Wow( Shad Moss), Zonnique (daughter of Ti and Tiny), Reginae (daughter of Toya Wright and Lil Wayne), Shaniah (daughter of Jermaine Dupri), Ayanna (daughter of DJ Hurricane) and Brandon (son of Deb Atney). Each week, the common theme is the pursuit of independence. Like most kids, they want to succeed on their own and without using the names of their parents.  It just never seems to happen!

The latest episode, 99 Problems and Sound is One, continues discussing the argument between Brandon and Reginae. Last week the parents intervened and I hoped it was squashed but Bow decided to step in and just made it worse. Not sure why he thought inviting Brandon to a surprise dinner with Reginae was the answer because clearly it spiraled out of control. Reginae stormed out and her mom and entourage were ready to handle Brandon. All of this as she was preparing to celebrate her 18th birthday. Calmer heads prevailed and the party went on as planned and thankfully no one told Lil Wayne.

This situation keeps getting out of hand and all Reginae wants is an apology. Brandon is holding on to his pride, meanwhile everyone including his mom, Deb Atney, tells him to LET IT GO!! At 26 why does he keep arguing with Reginae? Ms. Deb is constantly telling him to think smarter. She knows that this can be career ending for him. Did I mention that part of the problem is that no one knows exactly what he does and/or who he is?

Brandon, determined to prove his talents schedules a showcase featuring his artist and a celebrity panel including his mom.  This is where his 99 problems surface. The sound equipment is malfunctioning, artist are messing up and as he has a melt down, Deb steps in and takes over. Mad that this is occurring he leaves his own event.

Some people are motivated by drama and it seems that Bow Wow is no different. He came to Atlanta from LA to write his final album before retirement however he has barely been in the study. Tweets mentioning Funkmaster Flex calling him a mumble rapper have apparently motivated him. Let's see what happens….
