Seven Reasons to Attend the New York Auto Show

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by A Girl's Guide to Cars but all opinions are my own.

The New York International Auto Show arrives at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City,  Friday, March 30th through Sunday, April 8th.  I am not a car fanatic but I like seeing the latest features and innovative technology that is available. It's an action packed event and here are my seven reasons that it's a must to add to your calendar.

1. What's New:

The first look at what's new generally happens at the auto show. Manufacturers are given the opportunity to highlight the latest features and technologies to a mass crowd. It will also give you a glimpse of what to expect in the car industry.

2. No Pressure or Stress:

This is probably one of the few times where you will be in a room full of available cars and no one pressures you to buy. This is nothing like a dealer's lot so you can feel at ease knowing that all your questions will be answered without sales tactics while you explore at your own pace.

3. A Day Out:

There is fun for all ages. Bring the kids and avoid the “buy me this”syndrome. This isn't a shopping event and the only shiny things are too big for their pockets but they can definitely sit inside and pretend.

Bring the husband and make it a date night or just a gentle nudge to complete the “honey do” list.

I'll be there on opening night with some fellow influencers for a girls night out experience. There is nothing like “Girls and Cars” so make certain to follow along on Twitter and/or Instagram

4. Steps Encouraged:

The weather in the Northeast has been extremely unpredictable so it's not always easy to get your 30 minutes of cardio. The New York International Car Show provide four floors of walkable space. Perfect for counting steps and  looking at beautiful cars.

5. Free Stuff/Contest:

It's just not about getting shiny pamphlets. The booths will be packed with giveaways like shirts and hats and also provide the opportunity to maybe win your favorite or soon to be favorite car.

6. Car Shopping:

If you happen to be in the market for a new car, this is the best place to not only compare your favorite brands but also check out some that you might not have considered. While brand loyalty can be important, I think shopping by the body style is just as important. We are a family of four with the need for extra leg room and not many mid-sized automobiles offer that and still provide trunk space and/or a third row. The car show is the most convenient way to see multiple brands and or body styles in the same place. I'm excited to see what Mazda has to offer. Their new lineup is impressive and cost-effective. The CX9 has a sleek look but appears to provide lots of room.  It provides many of the aspects that is needed in being a great family car. I love that it has high safety ratings.

7. Expert Tour:

Experiencing the show floor and all its offerings is exciting, but's a totally different experience, when led by an expert. You can take advantage of this This year, the New York Auto Show will host special two-hour tours with leading experts to showcase the products on-view and provide you with in-depth knowledge
